Getting Creative with Wooden Pallets…

Summer is synonymous with funky, creative and unique ideas. Recently, we received a picture from one of clients who turned some of our pallets into new patio furniture. Take a look at the picture to see what she has created. It’s not only beautiful, but also functional! With a little creativity, basic carpentry and some colour, you can turn our wooden pallets and crates into functional and beautiful pieces for your garden and home. Do you want to make some pallet furniture yourself?

Inside or Out…

Pallets are perfect for creating outdoor features or spaces. Pallets can be used to build anything from striking structural features to cosy little nooks and fences to keep dogs in or for privacy. You’ll be amazed at the things you can create with wooden pallets. Think of projects, problems or solutions you would like to resolve. Our wooden pallets are made of quality wood and can be used for a variety of uses.

We’ve scouted out a few outdoor ideas to get you going:

  • Fencing, walkways, and gates
  • Garden, patio, and pool sheds
  • Partitions/privacy screens
  • Flooring and stairs
  • Greenhouse fixtures
  • Planters and creative plant holders (think plant wall!)
  • Herb gardens
  • Swings and playgrounds
  • Bike, tool or storage racks
  • Shelves and storage in garden areas
  • Benches and seating
  • Tables, chairs, furniture
  • Animal housing

Take it Inside!

Consider bringing wooden pallets inside to your living room and bedroom. Create a headboard from wooden pallets to give a rustic feel to your bedroom or build a bunkbed. Pallets can be dismantled and used as-is, or rounded and sanded to achieve the desired look. Pallets can be used for projects that require strength and stability. For example, bookcases, shelving, or other storage solutions. Add some soft, comfortable touches to your design and you’ve got a stylish new piece.

The most important thing to bear in mind is selecting safe pallets for reuse. It’s not a good option to choose pallets that were treated with pesticides or been carrying hazardous materials, so be sure that you know where your pallets come from and what they’ve been employed for. There’s no guarantee for the fact that any pallets you save are free of harmful bacteria or substances, so be sure you select only those that you are certain are of good quality.Check out this blog for more information on pallets, their selection and the best way to use them.
