What Las Vegas makes and ships
Las Vegas at a glance
Las Vegas runs on tourism, gaming and conventions, so food, drink and supplies flow constantly to Strip resorts. I-15 links the valley to Southern California and Salt Lake City, and warehouses spread north through North Las Vegas to Apex.
Tourism, gaming and conventions drive the Las Vegas economy, and most Strip resorts sit in unincorporated Paradise and Winchester rather than inside city limits. Feeding them takes a constant inbound flow of food, beverages and supplies. North Las Vegas, which now includes the Apex Industrial Park, is dominated by warehouse and distribution firms; a large e-commerce fulfillment center and a cosmetics retailer's DC both opened there in 2019. Henderson, which grew up around a World War II magnesium plant, still produces titanium and vitamins.
Pallet demand tracks those buyers. Food and beverage distributors serving resort kitchens need sturdy 48x40s that survive frequent handling. E-commerce and retail DCs in North Las Vegas run standard pallets by the truckload. Henderson manufacturers, including a machine-tool maker that began building a large plant in 2024, need heavier block or custom pallets. Only one Class I railroad serves the city, and I-15 is the truck route to the Southern California ports.

How freight moves
I-15 runs southwest to Southern California and the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and northeast toward Salt Lake City. I-11 comes in from Arizona over the bridge near Hoover Dam, bypasses Boulder City and runs with US 95 through Henderson, while US 95 continues northwest toward Reno. The 215 Beltway wraps the south, west and north sides of the valley. A single Class I railroad serves the city. Harry Reid International Airport, about five miles south of downtown, handles air cargo.

Which pallet to order
The right pallet grade for Las Vegas.
Resort supply warehouses and beverage distributors do best with Grade A 48x40s, or new pallets for heavy canned and bottled loads that get handled many times. E-commerce and retail DCs in North Las Vegas can use Grade A outbound and Grade B for inside moves. Henderson manufacturers moving metal or machinery need block pallets or custom sizes. Freight exported through the Southern California ports needs heat-treated (HT) pallets stamped under ISPM 15; loads staying in the U.S. do not.
