I-85, I-75 and I-20 cross inside the I-285 Perimeter, and most pallet trucks spend part of their run on that loop. Rail containers come off trains at intermodal yards in Austell and Fairburn, at Inman Yard in northwest Atlanta and at Hulsey Yard in southeast Atlanta. The Georgia Ports Authority's Mason Mega Rail terminal runs double-stack trains between Garden City Terminal and Atlanta, and the Port of Savannah is reached by rail or by I-75 and I-16. The right pallet grade for Atlanta.

For I-85 and I-75 DCs, start with Grade A 48x40 recycled stringers; they clear retail receiving and rack cleanly. Grade B works for one-way outbound loads and floor-stacked storage. Plants with washdown floors and freezers need sound, tightly nailed pallets, which usually means Grade A, AAA or new. If product is exported through Savannah, heat-treated pallets bearing the IPPC mark are the safe call. Your account manager confirms the grade and any HT stamp.
Do containers railed to Savannah from Austell or Fairburn need heat-treated pallets?+
If the container is headed overseas, generally yes. Many importing countries require ISPM 15 heat treatment and the stamp on solid wood packaging, while domestic loads don't need it. Tell your account manager the destination, and we quote HT pallets from accredited heat-treatment facilities when the shipment calls for them.
Can a produce dealer at the Forest Park farmers market get pallets delivered?+
Yes. The state farmers market takes trucks at any hour, and we arrange a full-truckload delivery to your stall or warehouse. Tell your account manager whether the pallets go into cold rooms or straight onto reefers, so the grade matches how hard they will be used.
