Pallets deliveredin Kansas.
Kansas freight has three poles. Southwest Kansas packs beef in Dodge City, Holcomb and Liberal; Wichita, the self-styled Air Capital of the World, builds aircraft; and the Edgerton intermodal park ties Johnson County warehouses to Kansas City rail.

Chesapeake Pallets is a pallet broker based in Atlanta. We don't run a yard in Kansas. For each load we buy from an independent yard close to your dock that has your grade in stock, and the delivered price includes the freight. One account manager handles the quote, the paperwork and the invoice.

Kansas at a glance
What Kansas makes and moves.
Kansas makes beef, grain products and airplanes. Packing plants in Dodge City, Holcomb and Liberal process cattle from High Plains feedyards, and Kansas ranks third in cattle on feed. In 2025 the state harvested more wheat than any other and led the nation in sorghum by a wide margin. Wichita's aviation cluster builds business jets, fuselage sections and parts. Salina makes frozen pizza and farm equipment, Hutchinson mines salt, and an EV battery plant opened in De Soto in 2025.
That gives Kansas three pallet profiles. Beef plants ship boxed meat into cold chains every day and want strong, tight pallets that hold up in coolers. Aircraft and parts makers need custom sizes and heavy skids for long, awkward components. Food, salt and grain shippers stack heavy bags and cases. Kansas City-area DCs run standard 48x40s through the year, mostly recycled, at a pace set by intermodal trains and retail demand.

Southwest Kansas beef plants
Two beef plants in Dodge City, one in Liberal and one in Holcomb near Garden City process cattle from High Plains feedyards and ship boxed beef nationwide and overseas. Product moves into coolers right off the line, so these docks favor strong AAA or new 48x40s, and export cartons need the ISPM 15 heat-treatment mark.

Wichita aircraft suppliers
Wichita's aircraft plants and the suppliers that feed them build fuselage sections, wing parts, interiors and machined components. Parts are long, light or awkward, so buyers order custom-sized pallets, crates and skids built to the drawing, usually in new lumber, with heat treatment when parts ship abroad.

Salina frozen food and equipment
Salina's frozen-pizza plant ships cases to grocery freezers nationwide, and a farm-equipment maker there sends implements and parts to dealers. Frozen cases ride on Grade A or new 48x40s that hold up in freezers, while implements and parts need block pallets or custom skids sized to the steel.

Edgerton logistics park
Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton pairs an intermodal yard with millions of square feet of distribution space, and Gardner, Olathe and Lenexa add more warehouses on I-35. These buildings unload containers and serve stores across the Plains on standard recycled 48x40s that need to match the grade on every order.

How freight moves
Ports, rail and interstates.
I-70 crosses Kansas from Kansas City through Topeka, Salina and Hays toward Colorado. I-35 runs from Kansas City past Edgerton and Emporia, then the Kansas Turnpike carries it to Wichita and Oklahoma, and I-135 connects Wichita with Salina. US-54 and US-400 link Wichita to Dodge City and Liberal, and US-50 serves the Garden City and Dodge City packing corridor. The intermodal yard at Edgerton handles domestic and international containers. Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport handles air cargo, and export containers reach coastal ports by rail.

Which pallet to order
The right grade for Kansas.
Beef plants in Dodge City, Holcomb and Liberal usually order AAA or new 48x40s sturdy enough for long cooler stays, and boxed beef for export needs HT pallets bearing the IPPC mark. Wichita aircraft suppliers need custom sizes and new lumber, sometimes block pallets for heavy tooling. Frozen-food and salt shippers want Grade A or new under heavy cases and bags. Johnson County DCs mostly run Grade B recycled. Your account manager confirms grade and build details in writing.
