What New Hampshire makes and ships

New Hampshire at a glance

New Hampshire's freight is mostly made, not grown. Precision machine shops and aerospace suppliers line the Merrimack Valley, and their parts move down I-93 and the Everett Turnpike toward Boston or leave on cargo jets from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

Manufacturing produces roughly a tenth of the state's output, and much of it is high-value work. Shops in Manchester, Hooksett and Nashua machine metal components for aircraft engines, defense programs and space hardware. Food production is smaller but distinctive: a Swiss chocolate maker's plant in Stratham roasts and processes cocoa beans on site. Warehouses have also grown up around the airport in Manchester, where cargo carriers handled a record volume in 2025, and the Seacoast ties into the state's port in Portsmouth.

That mix gives New Hampshire a different pallet profile from a big-box state. Many shippers send smaller, heavier loads of parts and assemblies, often to customers who inspect packaging on arrival. Aerospace and defense suppliers export, which brings ISPM 15 into the spec. Parcel and retail buildings near the airport and along I-93 cycle standard 48x40s, while Seacoast food makers want pallets that pass a grocery receiving check.

How freight moves

I-93 carries freight from Concord through Manchester and Salem toward Boston, while the F.E. Everett Turnpike links Concord, Manchester, Merrimack and Nashua with US 3 at the Massachusetts line. I-89 runs northwest to Vermont, and I-95 crosses the short Seacoast between Massachusetts and Maine. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is the state's air-cargo field. In Portsmouth, the Market Street Marine Terminal is New Hampshire's only public general cargo terminal, reached by a short connector from I-95. The nearest full-service container port is Boston's Conley Terminal.

Which pallet to order

The right pallet grade for New Hampshire.

Precision manufacturers should order Grade A or new pallets, and block or custom sizes when crates and fixtures don't fit a 48x40. Aerospace and defense exports need HT pallets stamped under ISPM 15 from ALSC-accredited facilities. Airport-area warehouses doing parcel and retail freight can run Grade B for storage and Grade A for outbound retail loads. Seacoast food plants generally choose Grade A or AAA. Grade definitions differ from yard to yard, so your account manager confirms the spec in writing.

Buying pallets in New Hampshire: questions

Can you deliver pallets to warehouses around Manchester-Boston Regional Airport?
Yes. We deliver truckloads to buildings in Londonderry, Manchester and the business parks around the airport. Tell us the dock hours and appointment rules, and your account manager confirms grade, footprint and delivery details before the truck leaves the supplying yard.
What pallet should a Nashua or Hooksett machine shop use for export orders?
Overseas shipments with wood packaging need heat-treated pallets with the ISPM 15 mark. For heavy or odd-shaped parts, a custom size or block pallet often works better than a standard 48x40. Send the part footprint and weight, and we quote a build from an accredited facility.
Do you deliver to Seacoast plants near Portsmouth and the Pease Tradeport?
Yes. We cover Portsmouth, Newington, Dover and the Pease International Tradeport area. Seacoast food and manufacturing shippers usually ask for Grade A, and some need HT pallets for exports routed through Boston. Your account manager puts the grade spec into the written quote.
Can a Londonderry warehouse split one delivery between Grade A and Grade B?
Often, yes, when the supplying yard carries both. Plenty of airport-area buildings keep Grade B for racking and storage and send Grade A out on retail loads. Tell us the split you need, and your account manager confirms whether one truck can carry it and lists each grade separately.
Where can I buy pallets in New Hampshire?
From us, by the full truckload: 616 recycled 48x40s per truck, or 520 block pallets. Call (470) 206-3352 or book a test load.
What do pallets cost delivered to New Hampshire?
Full-truckload prices run from $4.75 a pallet for Grade B to $10.50 for AAA, freight included. Heat-treated adds $1.00–$1.50 per pallet.
When will a load reach New Hampshire?
Your delivery date is on the quote, in writing, before you send a PO. Standard 48x40s often arrive in 0–2 business days. New and custom builds take longer.
