Pallets deliveredin Honolulu, HI.
Honolulu is Hawaii's freight door. Mainland containers unload at Sand Island and the Honolulu Harbor piers, trucks carry them along Nimitz Highway to warehouses in Kalihi and Mapunapuna, and H-1 moves freight west to Pearl City, Waipahu and Kapolei.

Quoted individually.
Ocean or air freight replaces the truck, so the national ranges and lead time don't apply. Your account manager prices each load in writing.
How we supply it
An Atlanta broker, a yard near your dock.
Chesapeake Pallets is a pallet broker based in Atlanta. We don't run a yard in Honolulu. For each load we buy from an independent yard close to your dock that has your grade in stock, and the delivered price includes the freight. One account manager handles the quote, the paperwork and the invoice.
Where we deliver
Around Honolulu.
Freight docks are around Honolulu Harbor in Iwilei, Kalihi Kai and Sand Island, near the airport in Mapunapuna, in Halawa, Aiea and Pearl City, in Waipahu and Waipio, and out west in Kapolei, Kalaeloa and Campbell Industrial Park.

Honolulu at a glance
What Honolulu makes and moves.
The City and County of Honolulu covers all of Oahu, home to about 70 percent of Hawaii's residents. Tourism and the military are two of the biggest sectors in the state's economy, and both are concentrated here: Waikiki's hotels on one side, and on the other Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, formed in 2010 by merging the naval station and the air base, plus the Army's Schofield Barracks beside Wahiawa. Kapolei, which the government named Oahu's 'second city' in 1977, is where much of the island's growth is planned.
Nearly every pallet on Oahu starts as mainland freight. Hotels, base suppliers, restaurants and grocery stores are served by distributors that strip containers and rebuild loads, and many of those pallets then sail on to the neighbor islands. Industrial users at Campbell Industrial Park add heavier freight. The wood itself has to come in by ship, so every Honolulu order is quoted individually and planned around the sailing calendar rather than a trucking schedule.

Waikiki hotel and restaurant supply
Foodservice and beverage distributors make daily runs to Waikiki's hotels and to restaurants downtown, in Ala Moana and in Kakaako. Their trucks work tight hotel loading docks, so they want consistent Grade A 48x40s that hand jacks move cleanly through service corridors and cold rooms.

Pearl Harbor and Schofield suppliers
Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and Schofield Barracks draw food, supplies, spare parts and equipment through contractors and distributors across the island. Base receivers may specify pallet type or condition in the contract, and your account manager matches that language before anything ships.

Campbell Industrial Park users
Campbell Industrial Park, beside Kalaeloa Barbers Point Harbor, holds the island's oil refinery and heavy industry, while Kapolei and the former Barbers Point naval air station at Kalaeloa add warehouses for the west side. Drums, bagged materials and equipment there call for block pallets or custom sizes.

How freight moves
Ports, rail and interstates.
Containers land at Honolulu Harbor, including the container yards on Sand Island at the harbor mouth. The state's Kapalama Container Terminal project at Piers 40–43 adds berths and yard space designed to cut container truck trips along Nimitz Highway. H-1 runs from Kapolei through Waipahu, Pearl City and Aiea to downtown, H-2 climbs to Mililani and Wahiawa, and H-3 crosses the Koolau Range from Halawa to the Marine Corps base at Kaneohe Bay. Kalaeloa Barbers Point Harbor serves the west side, and Daniel K. Inouye International handles air freight.

Which pallet to order
The right grade for Honolulu.
Honolulu orders are quoted individually, so spend where handling is hardest. Pallets that will sail on to Maui, Kauai or Hawaii Island should be Grade A or new. Hotel and restaurant distributors working tight urban docks also do best with Grade A or AAA 48x40s. Campbell Industrial Park and construction users need block pallets or custom sizes. Freight leaving Hawaii for foreign ports needs heat-treated (HT) pallets carrying the ISPM 15 stamp. Inbound cargo faces state plant-quarantine inspection, so ask for bark-free wood with no insect damage; your account manager confirms the spec in writing.
