How we supply Tennessee

Sourcing

Chesapeake Pallets is a pallet broker based in Atlanta. We don't own a yard. For each load we buy from the closest vetted yard that has your grade in stock. One account manager handles your quote, paperwork and invoice.

Where we deliver

Pallet delivery across Tennessee.

Docks sit in Memphis along Lamar Avenue and near the airport, in Millington and Collierville, in La Vergne, Smyrna, Murfreesboro and Lebanon around Nashville, and in Chattanooga, Cleveland and Knoxville.

What Tennessee makes and ships

Tennessee at a glance

Tennessee freight runs through three junctions. Memphis has an air-cargo superhub and two Mississippi River rail crossings, Nashville sits where I-24, I-40 and I-65 meet, and I-75 links Chattanooga with Knoxville in the east.

Memphis International's air-cargo superhub sorts overnight freight and runs its own cold storage, and four rail and highway bridges cross the river at Memphis. Middle Tennessee builds and distributes: La Vergne and Smyrna in Rutherford County mix manufacturing, printing and warehousing along I-24. Around Lynchburg and Tullahoma, distilleries make whiskey that a 2013 state law says must be produced in Tennessee and filtered through maple charcoal. Chattanooga plants turn out candy, baked goods and beverages, and automakers assemble vehicles at Smyrna, Spring Hill and Chattanooga.

Pallet demand splits the same way. Memphis and Rutherford County warehouses go through recycled 48x40s for retail, parcel and grocery freight. Distillery bottling halls ship cased whiskey on new or high-grade pallets that look right at the buyer's dock. Chattanooga food plants need sound pallets that handle coolers and automated lines, and suppliers to the auto plants move dense parts that often need block or custom builds.

How freight moves

I-40 crosses the whole state, from the Hernando de Soto Bridge in Memphis through Nashville to Knoxville and on toward Asheville. I-65 runs from Kentucky through Nashville to Alabama, I-24 links Nashville with Chattanooga, and I-75 climbs from Chattanooga to Knoxville. I-269 loops the Memphis suburbs, and I-55 crosses the river on the Memphis-Arkansas bridge. The Port of Memphis centers on President's Island. Tennessee has no seaport; container exports head by rail or truck to Atlantic ports such as Savannah and Charleston or to the Gulf.

Which pallet to order

The right pallet grade for Tennessee.

Memphis and Nashville distribution docks mostly reuse Grade A and Grade B 48x40 stringers. Whiskey bottlers usually prefer new or AAA so cases arrive looking right, and any pallet leaving the country needs HT stamping under ISPM 15. Chattanooga food plants with automated lines should ask for AAA or new. Suppliers shipping heavy parts in Middle and East Tennessee often need block pallets or custom sizes. Your account manager confirms the grade spec in writing.

Buying pallets in Tennessee: questions

Can you deliver to warehouses near Memphis International and Lamar Avenue?
Yes. Distribution sites around the airport, along Lamar Avenue and out to Olive Branch across the state line are on our delivery map. Most run recycled 48x40 stringers. Share the dock address and grade, and your account manager confirms the order.
What pallet do Tennessee whiskey bottlers ask for?
Bottling halls usually want new or AAA 48x40s so cased goods ship stable and presentable, and export orders need HT pallets with the ISPM 15 mark. Tell your account manager the case pattern and stack height, and the spec is written to match.
Do you serve DCs along I-24 in Rutherford County?
Yes. Warehouses in La Vergne, Smyrna and Murfreesboro are on our map, as are sites on I-40 around Lebanon. Many ship retail orders on Grade A 48x40s; if your automation needs block pallets with full 4-way entry, mention it before the first load.
Can you build custom pallets for heavy parts made in Middle Tennessee?
Yes. Send the part footprint, weight and how the load is handled, and a nearby independent yard builds to that drawing. Block or heavy stringer designs are common for dense parts. Your account manager confirms dimensions and lumber grade.
Where can I buy pallets in Tennessee?
From us, by the full truckload: 616 recycled 48x40s per truck, or 520 block pallets. Call (470) 206-3352 or book a test load.
What do pallets cost delivered to Tennessee?
Full-truckload prices run from $4.75 a pallet for Grade B to $10.50 for AAA, freight included. Heat-treated adds $1.00–$1.50 per pallet.
When will a load reach Tennessee?
Your delivery date is on the quote, in writing, before you send a PO. Standard 48x40s often arrive in 0–2 business days. New and custom builds take longer.
